Beautiful Tiny Home Converted From A Rustic Grain Silo in Texas


Start planning your Texas getaway at the Silo a unique vacation home located at the Gruene Homestead Inn. Guests come from near and far to stay in this original 1940s grain silo. Once inside you'll find a quaint sitting area that offers a twin trundle for lounging or sleeping. There is a spiral staircase that leads up to the loft bedroom with a king-size bed. The bathroom is on the first floor and offers a slate rock shower and double sinks. The kitchenette offers a coffee bar, microwave, and mini-fridge. The Silo has a large patio swing and lounge chairs and a private picnic table that make this the perfect space for relaxing and soaking up the peace and quiet of the vacation property. Entertainment at the home includes ROKU streaming television and internet availability. You'll want to note that this is a metal building with a metal roof, and on rare occasions service delays, have been reported. The property is unable to guarantee streaming/internet service at all times. This room is not pet friendly.

Amenities at the Silo include air conditioning, TV, ensuite bathroom, dual sinks, microwave and refrigerator, sitting area, located upstairs, private porch, dining/writing table, walk-in shower, porch entrance, stand-alone unit, air conditioning is individually controlled in the room, ceiling fan, coffee/tea maker, and complimentary high-speed internet in the room. The Silo is one of the most distinctive units available at the inn. It is essentially a 1 bedroom loft apartment built into a 1940s grain silo. The Silo was initially located just off the back side of the property. Frequent guests of Gruene may recognize the structure itself as the Gruene Silo Inn, which was purchased and moved in 2007 and remodeled both the interior and exterior. This unit has a very upscale feel and is quite a unique lodging experience.

The Gruene Homestead Inn is a collection of historic houses in the community of New Braunfels, Texas that features rooms and suites dating from the 1850s to the early 1900s. These vintage buildings have been renovated to reflect the ambiance of their era and to provide modern-day comforts to guests. There are currently 10 buildings with 20 guest rooms on eight beautifully landscaped acres located less than a mile from the Gruene Historical District. The property has a recent addition of the resort-style swimming pool, The Oasis, which comes complete with the Silo Swim-up Bar and Snack Shack. Service hours of the Silo Swim-up Bar and Snack Shack vary by season.

The rustic chic on-site event venue, Fiddler's Gruene at Gruene Homestead Inn, offers a unique and inviting venue location. The multiple catering options include full bar service, 2 stages, yard games, indoor/outdoor seating, and much more making this a fantastic option for special events. They can accommodate up to 272 guests and can be easily customized to fit your needs. With the on-site venue, lodging options, resort pool, and meticulously manicured grounds, the property are in the ideal location to host weddings, engagement parties, birthday parties, family reunions, corporate retreats, fundraisers, and more.
