5 Minute Imitation Crab Dip

Are you looking to add one more quick and easy appetizer dip recipe to your menu ideas?

This imitation crab with seafood sauce dip is tasty and great as a dip or a sandwich spread. It is also very nice to add to a salad.

If you don't have a food processor, you can just use a sharp knife and cut the imitation crab pieces into very small pieces or use a blender on pulse and be careful not to make it too mushy.

Imitation crab are little seafood sticks or chunks that are made from pulverized white fleshed fish, shaped and cured to give the appearance of crab meat. Imitation crab is a processed food that is a bit lower in calories than fresh crab but it lacks the nutrition Omega-3 fat value found in eating fresh crab.

The fish used is pollock along with egg white, artificial flavoring and sugar. This is the product that is popular for making California rolls.

1 package imitation crab (package sizes vary - just adjust the amount of other ingredients to make a nice flavor and texture on the end dip)

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup seafood sauce

1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:

Put the imitation crab into the processor and whiz until the crab has a small dipping type texture to it. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

Stir in the mayonnaise, seafood sauce and lemon. Do a taste and texture test and add more of whatever ingredient you would like to suit your taste.
